Adventure in the Hometown of the Moomin Museum

Did you know that Tampere is home to the world's only Moomin Museum? Pick an adventure map and spend a fun day navigating from one Moomin point to another!

During the winter holidays, you can come across Moomins not only in the museum but all over the city, because many other cultural destinations have also joined the winter adventure!  

Play and adventure are at the core of Tove Jansson's beloved Moomin stories, and the winter event is full of them too! Take a peek into the world of Moomin books in the Main Library Metso, let your imagination fly in the children’s cultural centre Rulla, marvel at the Moomin's birth story in the Moomin Museum or participate to the winter festival at the Sorsapuisto park. 

On the route of the Adventure in the Hometown of the Moomin Museum you can find activity spots by the following organizers: The Moomin Museum, Tampere Art Museum, Main Library Metso, Culture House Laikku, Museum Centre Vapriikki, Children's Cultural Centre Rulla and Perheliikunta (Family Excercise).  

The opening hours of the destinations vary. There is an entrance fee to the Moomin Museum and Museum Centre Vapriikki. More detailed event information can be found in the links below for each action point of the Adventure.   

Take part in a competition during your adventure!

Visit two, three or even all destinations with the whole family or with a group of friends and participate in the raffle. The winner of the raffle gets to go on a rare private tour of the Moomin Museum with their entourage, where they get to know the Moomin stories and Tove Jansson's life with an expert according to the group's wishes. After the tour, there is an opportunity for fun art together in the museum's Atelier, and the evening will be crowned with a delicious Moomin menu dinner for the whole group at restaurant Tuhto!
