Steffi La won the Photo Competition!

“Share your love of Moomins” competition has ended. We received more than 1,600 stunning and imaginative photos of Moomins on Instagram and Facebook with hashtags #muumimuseo and #moominmuseum. Thank you to all participants!

After a difficult evaluation, the jury eventually selected Steffi La from Leipzig as the winner!

Steffi La will be awarded a trip for two to Moomin Museum in Tampere, hotel accommodation at hotel Lapland for 4 days in Tampere, a dinner at Tampere Hall, access to a concert of Tampere Filharmonia, as well as free admission to the museums of Tampere.

The jury’s motivation: A genuine love of Moomins is conveyed in the winner photo. The photo shows the adventure-filled atmosphere familiar from Moomin books including important elements of Moomins: nature, water, friendship and making a journey together.  Moomintroll soft toy wearing a life jacket also tells about taking care of one another.  In a typical Moomin photo Moomintroll figurine is photographed in various settings. The special feature in the winner photo is that Moomintroll is involved in activities, not only posing in a landscape but as an active party looking out the fairway ahead.
Both the foreground and the background are successfully used in the composition of the photo thus creating movement towards depth. Moomintroll and his bright colored life jacket make a nice contrast with soft color scheme. Exposure together with water reflections directs the eye towards the mysterious and darker riverbed ahead – towards the future where adventure awaits!

Two Museum Cards were also raffled off between the participants. Museum Cards winners are @markhelelo and @nuups84.
