Sigrid from Belgium is the Moomin Museum Guest of Honour!

Visit Tampere, Moomin Museum and Moomin.com arranged a video competition on Instagram in May to search for the world’s biggest Moomin fan. The winning video stood out with a touching story: Sigrid Meulemans from Antwerp, Belgium is going to be the Moomin Museum Guest of Honour in August.

The excited winner will be brought to Tampere and the Moomin Museum as a VIP guest for a 5-night trip to explore the museum as well as everything else Tampere has to offer. Sigrid Meulemans and her friend will be getting royal treatment during their visit, starting from suite accommodation in Lapland Hotels Tampere. The highlight of the visit will be attending the Moomin Museum Garden Party on Saturday, August 11.

Sigrid won the competition by uploading a touching video on Instagram with the competition hashtag #moominmuseumguestofhonour, where she uses shadow puppetry to tell the story of herself growing up and finding solace in the Moomin stories.

– Winning the competition makes me so happy! I wanted it so much, I even cried a little after finding out I won. I made a very personal video and I’m so glad the jury liked it. I have my birthday during the trip, and this is the best gift ever!

Altogether, the competition inspired over a hundred videos from all over the world.
